Peer-to-peer exchange on coordinated local circular transition in Melbourne

During her visit to Australia, Ladeja Godina Košir, Founder of Circular Change and Chair of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP), is taking part in a peer-to-peer gathering of circular economy actors in Melbourne on 2 February 2026..

The expert exchange brings together representatives of local and regional government, academia, business and sustainability organisations from Victoria to discuss how local circular economy initiatives can be better aligned, coordinated and scaled beyond isolated pilots.

Rather than focusing on individual projects or best-practice showcases, the conversation centres on systemic questions: how to enable higher-R circularity strategies at city and regional level, how to bridge policy, practice and knowledge institutions, and how to build the long-term coordination capacity required for effective local transitions.

Ladeja’s contribution draws on European experience with multi-stakeholder coordination and governance of circular transitions. As Chair of ECESP, she brings insights from EU-level policy dialogue and cross-border collaboration, while positioning them as a reflective input rather than a prescriptive model for the Australian context.

The event forms part of a broader effort to strengthen Europe–Australia dialogue on circular economy transitions and to explore future opportunities for continued exchange and collaboration.
