EU–Australia: From Trade to Transformation
Why does the EU–Australia relationship ma tter more now than ever? The European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP), together with Circular Change, invites you to join the next #EUCircularTalk, exploring how the EU–Australia partnership is moving beyond trade towards practical circular economy action - building on recent exchanges and collaboration with Australian partners.
As global value chains are being redefined, EU–Australia cooperation is gaining new strategic relevance — not only economically, but also in terms of resilience, climate goals and resource security.
This session will explore how circular economy can:
support stronger cooperation between the EU and Australia
turn trade and climate goals into real results
bring policy, business and action closer together
help shape the future of more circular cities and economies
Circular diplomacy in action
This EU Circular Talk builds on recent exchanges between European and Australian circular economy communities. Earlier this year, Ladeja Godina Košir — Chair of the ECESP Coordination Group and founder of Circular Change — visited Australia, where she engaged with stakeholders across sectors and contributed to strengthening connections between both regions.
Among the key themes she has been consistently highlighting at the global level is circular diplomacy — the need to connect circular economy efforts across borders and align policy, business and society to enable more effective and coordinated systemic change.
Cross-sector, cross-continent perspectives
The session will bring together speakers from Europe and Australia, sharing experience from:
policy and institutions
business and innovation ecosystems
education and research
the creative sector
Through policy insights, real examples and an interactive discussion, participants will gain a clearer understanding of how international cooperation can move from dialogue to implementation.
