Ladeja Godina Košir appointed advisor to the European Circular Economy Act

At a time when the European Union is intensifying its efforts to strengthen resilience, competitiveness and responsible resource use, the development of the upcoming Circular Economy Act marks a crucial step forward.

Ladeja Godina Košir, founder of Circular Change and Co-Chair of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP), has been appointed as an advisor to the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in its work on NAT/986 – Circular Economy Act: Circular economy and responsible resource consumption within planetary boundaries.

This role places Ladeja at the heart of shaping one of the EU’s key strategic policy frameworks for the coming years.

From circular ambition to systemic transformation

The Circular Economy Act is expected to build on the European Green Deal and existing circular economy policies, with a stronger focus on:

  •  responsible resource use within planetary boundaries

  • resilience and strategic autonomy of the EU

  • systemic transformation across value chains and regions

Within this process, the EESC opinion will play an important role in translating the perspectives of civil society into concrete policy recommendations for the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU.

As an advisor, Ladeja contributes her extensive experience in connecting policy, practice and multi-stakeholder collaboration across Europe and globally.

A moment to shape Europe’s circular future

The coming months — leading up to key milestones such as the ECESP Annual Conference (22–23 April 2026) — will be essential for gathering input, aligning stakeholders and shaping the direction of the Circular Economy Act.

Ladeja’s role as advisor reflects both her long-standing engagement at EU level and the growing recognition of the need for integrated, cross-border and practice-driven approaches to circular transformation.
