Connecting regions: Contributing to EU–CELAC collaboration
How do we turn global circular economy ambitions into real, coordinated action across regions? This question is at the heart of ongoing cooperation between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
A key platform for this dialogue is the EU–CELAC Working Group on Climate Change, Environmental Sustainability and Energy Transition (WG CCESET). As part of the broader EU–CELAC partnership on research and innovation, the Working Group brings together EU institutions, policymakers, researchers and practitioners to co-create concrete actions addressing shared sustainability challenges.
At its seventh meeting on 18 March 2026, the Working Group focused on advancing discussions from exchange towards implementation — exploring how existing initiatives can evolve into structured, coordinated and actionable collaboration frameworks. The agenda brought together diverse perspectives, from climate resilience and environmental risks to innovation-driven solutions, all contributing to the shaping of future joint action plans .
Among the contributors was Ladeja Godina Košir, who shared insights on circular economy and its implications for coordinated action. Drawing from extensive experience across EU platforms and international collaborations her contribution focused on bridging policy and practice, and on translating complex concepts into actionable pathways.
Further reinforcing this role, Ladeja Godina Košir — founder of Circular Change and Co-Chair of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) — has recently been appointed as an advisor to the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) for its work on NAT/986 – Circular Economy Act: Circular economy and responsible resource consumption within planetary boundaries.
Her engagement reflects a broader mission: connecting regions, stakeholders and knowledge systems to enable more coherent, impactful and globally aligned circular transitions.
