Ladeja Godina Košir Leads UNIDO Panel on Circular Recovery for Ukraine

On 26 June 2025, in Brussels, Circular Change founder and executive director Ladeja Godina Košir moderated a high-level panel hosted by the UNIDO Brussels Office, exploring how industrial circular economy practices can support Ukraine’s green recovery and strengthen its global competitiveness. The session was part of the EU4Green Recovery East initiative. UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) is the UN’s specialized agency promoting inclusive and sustainable industrial development. The panel focused on how resource efficiency, sustainable production, and circular innovation can help rebuild Ukraine’s economy, increase resilience, and deepen integration with the EU.

Ladeja brought together key voices from Ukrainian ministries, regions, and businesses, as well as the European Commission, to explore systemic approaches and real-life examples. She paid special tribute to the leadership of Ukrainian women in driving circular change, highlighting how circular principles are rooted in care, community, and resilience.

In his closing remarks, Christophe Yvetot, UNIDO Representative to the EU, emphasized a key message: “Circular economy is not just an environmental imperative — it’s a strategic opportunity for Ukraine’s recovery, innovation, and long-term resilience.”
