EU Green Week 2025: Championing a Clean, Competitive & Circular Europe
EU Green Week 2025, the EU’s flagship environmental policy forum, took place in Brussels from 3–5 June, bringing together policymakers, businesses, and civil society to drive circularity in Europe’s economic transformation. Circular Change played a key role through our partnership with ECESP—the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform co-chaired by our founder, Ladeja Godina Košir.
On 4 June, Ladeja joined a high-level ECESP panel featuring Commissioners and EU officials, stressing that after eight years, ECESP has become a credible engine of systemic change—though key barriers remain. She emphasized the need for material-based targets and stronger social capital to ensure real, sustained circular transitions.
EU Green Week underscored several critical themes:
A socially inclusive, community-driven approach is essential—not just technological or economic solutions.
A system-wide, cross-sectoral strategy within the EU is vital. The circular economy is now overseen by four Commissioners, reflecting its broad political importance.
Growing synergies between circular economy and bioeconomy are shaping Europe’s regenerative future.
ECESP launched an open call for new members, with results due in September.
The platform received public and institutional recognition, confirming its value and impact in stakeholder engagement.
Looking ahead, Circular Change remains active in catalyzing strategic partnerships in Brussels, ensuring Europe’s circular journey stays bold, inclusive, and ready to influence the world.
