How can circular economy principles contribute not only to resource efficiency and climate goals, but also to human wellbeing, social trust and more resilient societies?

On 16 June 2026, Hot or Cool Institute will launch its new report Towards a Circular Wellbeing Economy: An Integrative Framework for Europe with an interactive online webinar bringing together practitioners and thought leaders from the circular economy and wellbeing economy communities.

Ladeja Godina Košir, Founder and Executive Director of Circular Change and Chair of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform, will join the event as a panellist, contributing practical insights from circular economy implementation, stakeholder engagement and systemic transition work across European and international contexts.

Accelerating the transition to circularity

The webinar will open with key findings from the new report, which explores how embedding wellbeing principles within circular economy approaches can accelerate the transition to circularity, strengthen public trust and support societies that thrive within ecological limits.

The session is designed as more than a presentation of findings. It will create space for structured dialogue among practitioners, policymakers, researchers and organisations working to connect circular economy with wellbeing, sufficiency, social resilience and systemic change.

Experimentation and scaling

Following the panel reflections, participants will join structured breakout discussions focusing on key recommendations from the report, including policymaking, coalition building, indicators, Europe’s global role, and experimentation and scaling.

Ladeja Godina Košir will contribute to the breakout room on Experimentation and scaling, where she will address one of the central challenges of circular transition: how to move from promising pilots and isolated experiments towards systemic implementation.

Hot or Cool Institute: translating science into action

Hot or Cool Institute is a public interest think tank working at the intersection of society and sustainability. Its mission is to challenge the status quo, help people reimagine what is possible and enable systemic change towards resilient societies that thrive within ecological limits. The Institute translates research into tools, narratives and policy options for organisations and decision-makers. Its reports and analytical tools play an important role in making sustainability transitions more tangible, measurable and relevant to everyday life.

Connecting to Circular Change’s work

At Circular Change, this perspective is closely connected to our long-standing role as a think–act–tank for circular transitions: connecting actors across sectors and borders, translating complexity into action, and supporting the shift from isolated initiatives to broader systemic transformation.

The webinar also resonates with Circular Change’s wider work on circular lifestyles, citizen engagement and systemic implementation. Through the European PSLifestyle project, citizens across Europe have been invited to explore more sustainable everyday choices with the help of a free Lifestyle Test and personalised action plans.
