Description: The Circulars, an initiative of the World Economic Forum and the Forum of Young Global Leaders, run in collaboration with Accenture Strategy, is the world’s premier circular economy award program. The award offers recognition to individuals and organizations across the globe that are making notable contributions to the circular economy in the private sector, public sector and society. The annual awards are hosted at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos.

Role in the project: Circular Change has actively supported The Circulars by communicating the programme and inviting Slovenian companies and institutions to apply. In 2017, CC offered to support the competition regionally, creating a networks of partners and gathering applications from Slovakia, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Serbia and Italy.

Results: Slovenian applicant were among the most numerous in 2017 and the competition gained visibility in Eastern and South Eastern Europe. Three Slovenians were recognized by The Circulars:

  • Valtex in 2017 (Finalist, Public Sector)

  • Janez Potočnik in 2016 (Winner, Leadership)

  • Ladeja Godina Košir in 2018 (Finalist, Leadership)
