Circular Economy in Action in Celje

A hands-on workshop in Celje brought together local entrepreneurs, experts, and city representatives to unlock regenerative business strategies.
On Wednesday, 23 April 2025, Circular Change was invited by the Municipality of Celje and Klub podjetnikov Zlatorog Celje to co-create a space for learning, sharing, and acting on one key question: How can we keep businesses alive – and thriving – in unpredictable times?
The workshop “Circular First Aid: How to Keep Business Alive in Turbulent Times” was more than a panel or discussion. It was a participatory lab for ideas, grounded in the principles of the circular economy. Under the guidance of Ladeja Godina Košir and Lucija Marovt, and in dialogue with local businesses, we explored opportunities for industrial symbiosis, secondary raw materials, and intergenerational community building.
Participants agreed: circularity is not just a buzzword — it's a mindset. A way to bring nature’s wisdom into economic resilience, starting with the EPC Trnovlje jug industrial zone as a pilot ground.
After all, Earth doesn’t operate in straight lines - and neither should our economy.
