Under the title ‘(Re)sources of (In)stability’, the 14th Bled Strategic Forum will be dedicated to discussing the role of (re)sources regarding peace and security, sustainable development and economic progress.
Ladeja Godina Košir, Executive Director of Circular Change, will be moderating the panel titled Climate Change - Saving the Planet by Going Circular, taking place on Tuesday, 3rd September 2019 in Rikli Hotel Balance Bled.
With esteemed guests, she will be discussing some of the most crucial problems our society is facing today. The way the global economy treats our limited natural resources deeply influences the Earth’s climate. Unless we radically change course, we will soon need another planet. This means that we must change the way we produce and the way we consume. It also means that we need to transform our economic model from linear to circular, in which resources are reused, recycled and remanufactured. What systemic approach and what partnership is required for such a transformation?
Throughout history, resistance to change has presented a formidable obstacle to innovation-based progress. How do we convince those who feel left behind that the transformation to a green economy makes economic sense and creates new jobs? How do we assure them that implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will lead to lasting prosperity on our planet?
