The Italian Circular Economy Stakeholders Platform initiatives within the CEAP

The European Circular Economy Action Plan published on March 2020 is one of the main building blocks of the European Green Deal. It calls for action on legislative and non-legislative measures targeting those areas with more potential of bringing real added value at the EU level. High relevance is given to multistakeholder and intersectoral hubs, as key to finding winning solutions for closing the loop along value chain and inside the cities and the territory. The network governance can power the circular economy by strengthening the positive forces in society, fostering dialogue and synergic relations and facilitating inter-sectorial interactions among all the actors which are involved in the CE transition. Within this frame, the Italian Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform, operating since May 2018 as national mirror of the ECESP and counting on more than 250 multi sectoral participating organizations, has recently reorganized its working groups answering to the 2020 CEAP and to the emerging priorities the priorities for a post-COVID-19 recovery, identified by ICESP community at the end of 2020. Moreover, since multidisciplinary approach and dissemination of good practices (GP) can inspire the transition towards circular economy, ICESP collected more than 180 Italian GPs through WGs meetings and consultations, with open access on www.icesp.it. These are monitored and analysed in terms of replicability, maturity, impact quantification for both the value chain and the territorial approach. The conference will be the occasion for giving a glance on ICESP ongoing activities, good practices and perspectives in line with European initiatives.

Ms. Ladeja Godina Košir, Chair of the Coordination Group of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) will introduce the role and work of ECESP and the leadership group on network governance.
