You are cordially invited to join us at the conference “Circular Economy in the Region: Connected for Sustainability and Growth″ to discuss the possibilities and advantages of transition to a circular economy in our region and potentials for cooperation.
The conference will offer insights on the topic of circular economy from some of the most renowned experts from the International Resource Panel. It will bring together governments, experts in the field of circular economy, and numerous stakeholders from the South East region.
The rapid increase in the use of resources and pressing climate issues require us to act faster and to work together. Transition towards a circular economy calls for new approaches and systemic transformation. It also means that new forms of partnerships and cooperation will be needed. The governments at all levels, from national to local, including key stakeholders, have to work together.
Your participation will be a valued contribution to this conference, and its impact will be crucial for economic and social change in South East Europe. We will have the opportunity to hear from Janez Potočnik, former EU Commissioner for the Environment and Izabella Teixeira, former Brazil´s Minister of the Environment, both Co-Chairs of the International Resource Panel (IRP); IRP scientists such as Paul Ekins, Maarten Hajer, and Jeff Herrick; and high level and political representatives of South Eastern European Countries; as well as other experts on the topic. Together we will discuss the advantages of transitioning to a circular economy in our region, the challenges ahead of us, and the potential for cooperation in the region.
