Tanja Bolte

Director General for Environment, Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning


Tanja Bolte graduated at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, University of Maribor and later obtained her Master’s degree in Technical Protection of the Environment at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor.

She was working at the Slovenian Environment Agency in Ljubljana for 15 years, where she was the Head of the Department for the Quality of Air from 2006 until 2013, before she became the Director General for Environment at the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning in 2014. Her areas of work include: waste, nature, environmental impact assessment, climate change, air quality and related measures, circular economy.
