Miha Humar performed his undergraduate studies on Biotechnical Faculty University of Ljubljana. After graduation, Miha Humar became a research assistant at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, where he completed doctoral studies as the best doctoral candidate in the respective year and therefore received the Jesenko award at Biotechnical Faculty. After his PhD, Miha Humar first led laboratory practices at Department of Wood Science and Technology. In 2015, he was elected to as a full professor. In the years 2010 – 2016 he held managerial positions in the Department of Wood Science and Biotechnical Faculty. Currently, he is Dean of BF.
Mr Humar is also active in the international arena, as a member of the scientific committees of conferences, a member of the international editorial boards. Together with Hojka Kraigher he co-organized scientific meeting Forests and wood nine times. In addition to teaching he is also active in the field of research. Dr. Humar coordinated several ARRS applied and CRP projects, and the research program. Scientific findings have been published in more than 150 scientific articles, 90 of them in journals with impact factor. Moreover, he is the co-author of the two international patents. Currently, research work deals with problems of Wood, Sustainable use of Wood, development of novel materials based on wood considering environmental impact through the whole service life.
