Marko Gajić was born and raised in Bled, Slovenia. In 2014 he co-founded Bled Film Festival and started working on Bled Water Festival.
Since his childhood he had been connected to film and theater. In 2004 he made a feature film on his own, with the help of his friends and family. That same year he got an idea about organizing a film and water festival in Bled. With great ideas and excellent connections, he started working on the project Bled Water Festival in 2011, a platform dedicated to water that seeks innovative and revolutionary projects in the field of water. With this know-how he connected international water and other environmental experts, business people, political figures and enthusiastic individuals. The main purpose of the project is to raise public awareness about water issues in Slovenia, as well as in other parts of the world, provide solutions and work on their development. With Bled Water Festival, he partnered with ministries for environment from Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia, and started with first regional awarding (2017): Responsible towards Water in several categories (corporate – all sizes, national projects, and individual projects). This is the first awarding of such kind.
Most of his free time he dedicates to water and environment in general; he is also a semi-professional diver with a lot of dives in the Adriatic Sea and lakes in the Alpine region. He contributes a lot of his time and energy to environment and society in general.
