Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Bank Association of Slovenia and President ofBanka Koper Management Board (Intesa Sanpaolo Group)

Since July 2011, Giancarlo Miranda is holding the position of President of the Management Board of Banka Koper. Prior to this, he served in various executive positions in the foreign subsidiaries of Intesa Sanpaolo Group. His professional career began at Nomisma (Bologna, Italy), an economic research and consultancy firm founded by professor Romano Prodi. Subsequently, Mr. Miranda held various positions in Italy, New York and Hong Kong as Deputy Regional Manager for China and Korea. In 2001, he returned to Italy to cover the position of Head of the International Trade Finance and Country Limits Unit at Intesa BCI Milan. In 2014 he was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Bank Association of Slovenia and Member of the Supervisory Board of the European Banking Federation (EBF). Giancarlo Miranda holds an MA in Economics from the University of Kent, Canterbury (UK), and a BA in Political Science and Economics from the Universita’ Cattolica di Milano (Italy).

Giancarlo Miranda je predsednik uprave Banke Koper od julija 2011. Pred tem je zavzemal različne izvršilne funkcije v tujih hčerinskih bankah skupine Intesa Sanpaolo.

Svojo profesionalno pot je začel v družbi za ekonomske raziskave in svetovanje Nomisma (Bologna, Italija), ki jo je ustanovil prof. Romano Prodi, na kar je delal na različnih področjih v Italiji, New Yorku in Hong Kongu kot pomočnik področnega vodje za Kitajsko in Korejo. Leta 2001 se je vrnil v Italijo v Intesa BCI v Milanu, kjer je delal kot vodja enote za mednarodno financiranje trgovanja in deželne limite.

V letu 2014 je bil imenovan za Predsednika Nadzornega sveta Združenja bank Slovenije in Člana Nadzornega sveta pri Zvezi evropskih bank (EBF).

Giancarlo Miranda je magistriral iz ekonomije na University of Kent, Canterbury (VB), iz političnih ved in ekonomije pa diplomiral na Universita’ Cattolica di Milano (Italija).
