Digital dimension of the Circular Economy : the untapped potential

“Digital dimension of the Circular Economy: the untapped potential” – a roundtable debate, moderated by Eric Mugnier, EY Partner and Circular Economy expert, with perspective provided by forerunner companies such as Michelin and Bouygues will take place on Tuesday, 18 October, between 14:30 – 16:30 in European Parliament (Members’ Salon).

Sirpa Pietikäinen, Member of the European Parliament.

Event is organized by Sirpa Pietikäinen, Member of the European Parliament in partnership with EY. From Slovenia Ladeja Godina Košir, Executive Director and Initiator of Circular Change platform is invited and will participate at the event.

The Circular Economy is still at an early stage, with new tools and practices arising every year. Some key projects have already paved the way for the IT sector to support the scalability of the Circular Economy on territories and within companies.

The European Digital Single Market Strategy, led by the European Commission is one of those, and could unlock new opportunities for the Circular Economy. Digitalisation could strongly support the Circular Economy by consolidating the actions, matching supply and demand and providing new insights on value chains and materials flows through the big data.

During this roundtable event EY will share – in collaboration with Michelin and Bouygues Construction – projects and concrete initiatives to better identifying and developing the untapped potential in the Circular Economy.  Event is closed for invited only.

We will inform you with the content of the debate and conclusions after the event. So stay tuned.

Why integral circular approach is needed?

EY believes that if companies want to benefit from a circular approach, rigorous choices need to be made. This will potentially impact all aspects of contemporary business models such as product design, restructuring of financial models, cash flow forecasting, tax, change management and legal consequences.

In EY publication here you can find the importance of the circular economy and why integral circular approach is needed.

Slovensko krožno gospodarstvo povabljeno na globalni gospodarski vrh v Davos

Ljubljana, 6. september 2016. World Economic Forum (WEF) in Young Global Leaders forum vabita vsa slovenska podjetja, inštitucije, vizionarske voditelje, občine in regije, ki so v svoje poslovanje že uspešno vključili principe krožnega gospodarstva, da sodelujejo v natečaju za globalne nagrade The Circulars 2017. Prijave so  odprte do 30. septembra.

Kipce The Circulars organizatorji podelijo v sedmih kategorijah.

Dr. Janez Potočnik, nekdanji evropski komisar za okolje in tudi predlagatelj prvega paketa ukrepov za krožno gospodarstvo v EU ter od avgusta predsednik Posvetovalnega odbora (Advisory Board) platforme Circular Change (CC) je prestižno nagrado The Circulars v kategoriji voditelj krožne ekonomije (The Fortune Award for Circular Economy Leadership) prejel 2015.

Zgledi in javno priznanje najboljšim

Prav zato želimo spodbujati razumevanje, kako v praksi v podjetjih delujejo krožni principi poslovanja.

»Povabilo smo z navdušenjem in seveda vso odgovornostjo sprejeli ter postali uradni podpornik The Circulars 2017 v regij.

Tekmovanje poteka v sedmih kategorijah.

Prav tako bodo udeleženci izvedeli vse o sodelovanju v globalnem izboru The Circulars 2017 in spoznali tako imenovane  Circular Economy “movers and shakers”.
